Frank is a native of the East Bay, born and raised in Danville, CA. He joined Diablo Valley Cabinetry in 2003, 21 years after his father, Frank Canova Sr., established the company.

Frank brought his engineering and business background (with degrees from California Polytechnic State University) to this local family business. After spending a number of years working in technology, Frank found a growing interest in small business, customer service and working with local families and contractors. He found a much greater sense of satisfaction in working at a company where he could drive the philosophy and company vision of providing meaningful customer service and products than with enterprise software development.

In contrast to the commonly-held philosophy of “latest and greatest”, Frank believes strongly the projects Diablo Valley Cabinetry takes on should be built to last so families can enjoy them for years to come. He is thankful to work with an amazing team of individuals who share this commitment to excellent customer service, quality relationships and outstanding products.

Frank currently lives in Walnut Creek with his wife Kate and his 2 daughters, enjoys outdoor activities and can frequently be found hiking or cycling.

Frank Sr. was born and raised in New York City. He attended Adelphi University in Garden City, New York, graduating in with a BBA in Finance and MBA in Marketing. Upon graduation, he joined the Johns-Manville Corporation to work in marketing and sales. He was later transferred to Northern California in 1973 to be a regional sales representative for the Residential Building Products Division. In 1976 he left Johns Manville to become part of the management team of a Bay Area Building Materials distributor who was expanding into the Kitchen business.

In 1982 Frank Sr. founded Diablo Valley Cabinetry with the vision to provide Homeowners and contractors in the Tri-valley area with reliable, integrity based service in the kitchen and bath industry. It was his main objective to combine excellent design principles with quality kitchen cabinetry, and deliver a high level of customer service to the client. It is on this foundation that Diablo Valley Cabinetry has maintained its position in the marketplace for over 40 years.

Frank Sr. has been married to his college sweetheart Libby for 50 years and has two sons and five grandchildren. His passions are golfing, skiing, and of course enjoying as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
